Ellen Christina "Chris" (Pyles) Sudvary

Ellen Christina “Chris” (Pyles) Sudvary, 68, of Rayland, died peacefully at her home on November 2, 2018.  She was born on April 12, 1950 at Bellaire Hospital and was the daughter of the late, George Pyles and Wanda (Joseph) Sztary.  She was Catholic by faith; was a small-town cake baker and operated Chris’s Fashions; a member of the VFW Ladies Aux., Post 4811; Dillonvale Firemen’s Club; a captain of her dart team (Out for Fun) and loved crossword puzzles and Jeopardy.

Chris is survived by John M. Sudvary, who she married and had a life with for 49 years; son, John Michael (Missy) Sudvary; daughter, April (Andy) Donbeck, all of Rayland; grandchildren Andrew (Alexandra) Sudvary Mussard of Milford, IL, Jade (Michael) Donbeck of Harrisville, Shelby Ogden of Rayland, Joey (Ariel) Donbeck of Middlebourne, WV; brothers, Greg, Gorden (Maggie), Jeffery (Donna) Pyles and Larry Sztary; sisters, Sheryl Klopfer, Ging (Jack) McDermont, Cindy (Joe) Staats and Betty Sztary; and many nieces and nephews.  She was a loving and caring, homemaker, wife, mom, mema, sister, aunt and friend to all and will be missed greatly by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, George Howard Pyles and an infant son, Joseph Andrew Sudvary.

Friends may call Monday, November 5, from 2-4 and 6-8 pm in the Wilson Funeral Home, 102 Main St., Tiltonsville.  Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 pm in the funeral home, with Pastor James Agnew officiating.  Burial will follow in Upland Cemetery.
