Frank Zelek, 88, of Emerson, OH, passed away December 16, 2019 at his home surrounded by family. He was born April 2, 1931, in Dun Glen, OH, a son of the late Stanley and Mary (Gazda) Zelek.
Frank was an independent truck driver and a coal miner. He was a U.S. Army Veteran during the Korean War era which resulted in a training accident and he was released of his duties as a Tank Commander. He was a member of the Dillonvale American Legion McCook Post #529 and the Colerain V.F.W. He was also a member of St. Adalbert Catholic Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Mary Cameron Matusik, Stanley, Walter “Babe,” and Joseph Zelek.
Frank is survived by and will be deeply missed by, the love of his life for 65 years, Rosemary Koenig Zelek; daughters, Deborah (Frank) Kovalski of Rayland, Cynthia (Thomas) Supinski of Rayland, Kathy King of Bridgeport, Tammy (Robert) Kelley of Adena, Carol (Greg) Cornett of St. Clairsville; sister, Helen Gullo of Emerson; twelve grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren.
Frank was fun, loving, kind, and generous to all. He will always be greatly loved and deeply missed by family and friends.
A private service will be held.
