George A. “Rabbits” Timko, 92, of Bridgeport, OH died May 10, 2018 at his home. He was born December 7, 1925, in Barton, OH, a son of the late Michael and, Anna (Pipa) Timko. He was a retired truck-driver for the Teamsters Local in Steubenville, a U.S. Army Veteran serving in WWII where he was in the 17th Airborne Paratroopers, was a member of the V.F.W., and St. Joseph Catholic Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary (Doleski) Timko; siblings, Michael “Pen,” John “Fluff,” Joseph “Cabbage,” Stephen “Jackson,” William “Bayla,” Peter “Buck” Timko, Mary Majanscik, Ann Good, Marge Jenkins, Margaret Timko, and Elizabeth Timko. George is survived by his children; Gary (Patty) Timko of Moundsville, WV, Mike “Bunny” Timko of Lansing, Sandra (Tom) Ikey of Bridgeport, Georgia (Randy) Mellott of St. Clairsville; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; sister-in-laws, Flo Timko of Lansing, Betty Timko of Wolfhurst; and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Monday, May 14 from 4-8pm at Wilson Funeral Home, 920 National Rd. Bridgeport, OH 43912 where funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10am with Fr. John Mucha officiating. Interment to follow at Linwood Cemetery, Blaine, OH. Graveside military services will be conducted by the Belmont County Veterans Association.
