John Harbourt Obituary

John Paul Harbourt, 76, of Mt Pleasant, passed away on Saturday, May 26, 2018 in East Ohio Regional Hospital.  He was born in Wheeling, WV on December 20, 1941 the only son of the late John and Margaret (Moore) Harbourt.  He was a member of St Adalbert Catholic Church and retired from Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel Company after 43 years of service.  John was also a former member of the Mt Pleasant Volunteer Fire Department and the Dillonvale Mt Pleasant Lions Club.  He also enjoyed spending time with his family hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Helen Jean (Thonen) Harbourt of Mt Pleasant; a son, John Michael Harbourt of Sewickley, PA; a daughter, Tanya DeCapito of Mt Pleasant; 4 grandchildren, Miranda (Dakota) Bednarek, Taylor Harbourt, Amber and Anthony DeCapito and a great grandson, Casmir Smogor.

John was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Carol Kiaski.

Friends may call Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm in the Wilson Funeral Home, 154 Second St., Dillonvale, where a Vigil service will be held at 7:30 pm.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday at 10:30 am in the St Adalbert Catholic Church, 39 Smithfield St., Dillonvale, with Msgr. John Kolesar officiating.  Burial will follow in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove.
