Julia DaRe 96, of St. Clairsville formerly of Lansing, passed away Sunday June 3, 2018 at East Ohio Regional Hospital Martins Ferry. She was born September 3, 1921 in Barton, where she grew up in East Loretta, a daughter of the late Paul Sr. and Julia (Repchak) Romanyak.
She was a life-long member of St. Nicholas Orthodox Church Barton. A retired employee of the former LS Good Co. Wheeling. A member of the ACRY, and the Ladies Alter Society of the Church. She was a past member of the CWC of St. Joseph Catholic Church Wolfhurst. A wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She enjoyed baking nut rolls and making perogies for the church.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband Joseph P. DaRe in 2013, three brothers Michael, John, and Paul Romanyak Jr, two sister Anna Kalinowski, and Mary Luketich DaRe.
Julia is survived by her children Julia (Mike) Schafer of St. Clairsville, Joseph Brian (Cathy) DaRe of Rayland, and Paul DaRe of St. Clairsville, a brother Joseph Romanyak of Weirton, three grandchildren Carrie (Josh) McCumber, Chrissy DaRe, and Justin DaRe, two great grandchildren Elleson, and Matheson McCumber.
Friends will be received at the Wilson Funeral Home 920 National Road Brookside on Wednesday June 6, 2018 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday at 10 am at St. Nicholas Orthodox Church Barton, Parastas service will be Celebrated on Wednesday at 7:30, interment will be in Holly Memorial Gardens Pleasant Grove.
