Raymond L. Millard obituary
We lost a hero. Raymond L. Millard, born November 5, 1926, passed away peacefully at his residence on Tuesday, April 23. He was a loving son, a devoted husband, an outstanding father and wonderful grandfather and great-grandfather. Lee was a 1944 graduate of Bridgeport High School where he served as Senior Class President and President of the National Honor Society. He served our country in the Korean War and was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army as a Sergeant First Class, attaining numerous citations and medals including a Bronze Star. He then worked for over 38 years at Allied Chemical in Moundsville, WV. He was a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church as well as a member of Bridgeport Masonic Lodge #181. He embodied the values of faith, family and country and was a role model for his family, friends and co-workers.
Lee was proceeded in death by his parents (Harry and Pauline Millard); three siblings (Alberta, Jim and Donna Jean); a son-in-law (Robert Brock); and the love of his life, his wife of 67 years Norma Gleaves Millard.
Lee is survived by his daughter Wendy Brock ; son Brian (Terry) Millard; three grandsons (Raymond Lee (Holly) Brock, Nathan Lee Millard and Michael Millard); one granddaughter (Hannah Millard); one great-granddaughter (Annabelle Brock); and two great grandsons (Gage and Colton Brock).
