Richard W. “Dick” Lyle, 77, of Bridgeport, OH, died July 1, 2019 at Wheeling Hospital. He was born August 24, 1941, in Bridgeport, OH, a son of the late Walter and Mildred (Harding) Lyle.
Dick was retired from the R.E. Burger Power Plant in Dilles Bottom, was a U.S. Army Veteran, was a member of the Bridgeport American Legion #227, and was a Methodist by faith. His favorite saying, “Or anything else,” will be missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Marlene "Muff" Floring.
Dick is survived by his wife of 25 years, Mary (Nagy) Lyle; children, Walter “Jake” (Chantal) Lyle II of St. Clairsville, Charles (Heather) Oberdick of Bridgeport, Shawn Morehouse of FL; grandchildren, (bestest little buddy) Lucas “Doobie” Lyle, Christie and Donnie Morehouse, Christian, Colin, and Carlie, Oberdick, Laila, Marlow, and Jaden Thomas; one great-granddaughter; siblings, Joe (Carol) Lyle, of Bridgeport, John (Debbie) Lyle of Dillonvale; Susie (Frank) Baker of Bridgeport.
Friends will be received Sunday, July 7th from 4p.m. until time of service at 6p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home, 920 National Rd. Bridgeport, OH. Pastor Mike Camden will officiate the service at 6p.m. Military Honors will be conducted by Belmont County Veterans Association. Private interment will be held at the convenience of the family.
