Walter J. “Skip” Grover, 91, of Bridgeport, passed away on Thursday, July 19, 2018 in Belmont Manor. He was born on Tuesday, August 17, 1926 in Bridgeport a son of the late Walter E. and Margaret (Bain) Grover. He retired from American Electric Power in 1986, was a member of the 1st United Methodist Church Kirkwood and the Martins Ferry American Legion. Skip served his country in the United States Navy during WWII.
Skip is survived by 3 sons, Mike (Paula) Grover of Tucson, AZ, Bill (Carm) Grover of Wolfhurst and Roy (Josie) Grover of Belmont; 7 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Patricia Ann (Gatchell) Grover; a brother, George Grover and two sisters, Marion King and Marge Sommers.
Friends may call Monday from 5-8 pm at the Wilson Funeral Home, 920 National Rd., Bridgeport. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 24 at 11 am in the funeral home with Reverend James Hoff officiating. Burial will follow at Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove with military honors being provided by the Belmont County Veterans Association.
