Zelia J. (Orsillo) Fronckel

Zelia Julian Fronckel, 94, passed away in the early morning hours of Thursday, February 8, 2018 at Licking Memorial Hospital. She was born on January 14, 1924, a daughter of the late Floyd and Zelia (DeNoose) Orsillo Sr.  She is survived by her son Phil (and Shari) Fronckel of Newark, OH, as well as her two grandchildren Mike (and Sarah) Fronckel of Haymarket, VA, and Eric Fronckel (and Jenny Brecht) of Columbus, OH.  She is also survived by two of her favorite people over the last 6 years, her great-grandchildren Andrew and Brennan Fronckel, also of Haymarket, VA. In addition to her parents, Zelia is preceded in death by her husband, Mitchell Fronckel, her four sisters (Lila Vitter, Sarah Rankin, Nicolette Bailey, and Elise Kasper), and by her only brother, Floyd Orsillo Jr.

Zelia called Dillonvale, Massillon, and finally Newark, OH home; she was a proud graduate of Dillonvale High School and was a member of the Dillonvale Presbyterian Church.  When World War II came, Zelia could be found serving her country at the Washington Navy Yard as one of many proud “Rosie the Riveters,” and she still has the time cards to prove it!  Some of her happiest times were spent fishing with Mitch in Canada, and with Phil, Shari, Mike and Eric in Massillon. Whether she was making dinner, watching re-runs of Big Chuck & Little John with the family, or breaking up fights between her grandkids, Zelia would always get the job done. She was an avid Buckeye fan and supported all things Cleveland.  Few things made her as happy in recent years as spending time laughing with her two great-grandchildren.

Friends and family will be received Monday, February 12 2018 from 12:30 to 1:30 at Wilson Funeral Home, 154 2nd St. Dillonvale, OH 43907, with a funeral service to be held immediately thereafter. Interment to follow at Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove.
