Adabelle (Davis) Schwender-Sickle, 95 of Martins Ferry was called home to our Lord on Wednesday June 4, 2014 at East Ohio Regional Hospital LTC at Martins Ferry. She was born October 17, 1918 in Martins Ferry, a daughter of the late William E. and Viola (Ochsenbein) Davis. She was a lifelong member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church Bridgeport. Adabelle taught Sunday school from age 14. She retired as Director of the Bellaire Senior Center in 1989. She was also a member of AARP, and the Belmont County Senior Citizen's Center Martins Ferry. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her 1st husband Harold O. Schwender in 1991, her 2nd husband William H. Sickle in 2009, a daughter Susan Tittle, two brother, and six sisters, an infant grandson Evan Murray. Adabelle is survived by four children Harold "Hally"(Monica) Schwender of Martins Ferry, Vi (Jim) McGee of Martins Ferry, Cheryl (Kenn) Sickle of St. Clairsville, and Pam (Wolfgang) Marquardt of Austin, TX. A brother E. John " Jack" (Mary) Davis of Oregon Il., she has several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren all of whom she loved dearly, also numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received on Monday June 9, 2014 at Wilson Funeral Home 920 National Road Brookside from 12-2 and 5-7 pm. And then on Tuesday June 10, from 10 am till time of service at 11 am at St. Paul's Lutheran Church with Rev. Karen Torrez officiating, interment in Holly Memorial Gardens Pleasant Grove.
