Obituary

Adam J. Mitchell, 90, of Colerain Pike, Martins Ferry, OH died Thur., Sept. 15, 2005 at Sunset Health Care, Harrisville, OH. He was born Sept. 8, 1915 at Maynard, OH a son of the late Tony and Stella (Dobosh) Mitchell. Adam was one of the founders of the Valley Machine Company and retired from C-E Cast Equipment Division of W. S. Tyler, Inc. a subsidiary of Combustion Engineering after 30 years of service. He also was a hobbyist, inventor and builder of many projects. Adam was a member of the Holiday Rambler RV Club and a veteran of the U. S. Marine Corps. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son Bob Mitchell, two daughters Judi Biehl and Carol Thompson, three brothers William, Stephen and Anthony Mitchell, and three sisters Mary and Helen Orban and Pauline Mitchell. Surviving are his wife Helen (Stullenburg) Mitchell, a son James (Ginny) Mitchell of Martins Ferry, a sister Anne Tesniarz of Colerain and thirteen grandchildren Bobby, Buddy and Adam Mitchell, Grethchen Helms, Michelle Dwyer, Kim Tarnakow, Jeff and Todd Thompson, David, Missy and Robby Biehl, Tammy Mick, and Kristen Mitchell, twenty-four great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, and two great great great grandchildren. Friends will be received Sat., 6-8 PM and Sun., 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut at Fifth, Martins Ferry, OH where services will be held Mon., Sept. 19, 2005 at 11:00 AM with Minister Rod Kasler officiating. Burial follows in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, OH.
