Al Barath, 62, of Locust St., Martins Ferry, OH died Jun. 13, 2004 at Wheeling Hospital, Wheeling, WV. He was born June 30, 1941 in Crescent, OH a son of the late Leslie and Julia (Kalapos) Barath. Al was the manager of the Park Legion Lanes of American Legion Post # 38 of Martins Ferry. He was a member of the American Legion Post # 38 and a veteran of the US Army. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife Dorothy Jean (Cook) Barath, three brothers Paul, Steve, and Leslie Barath and a sister Julia Phillips. Surviving are his wife Fran (Giancola) Barath, two step-children Rudy Litwin and Tina Baker both of Martins Ferry, a brother Lou (Peg) Barath of Ormond Beach, FL, a sister Marge (George) Wiczulis of Lorain, and a grandson. Friends will be received Tuesday 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut at Fifth, Martins Ferry, OH where services will be held Wednesday, June 16, 2004 at 1:00 PM with Minister Terry Erwin officiating. Military interment services will be conducted at the funeral home by the Belmont Co. Council of the American Legion. American Legion Post #38 will hold services in the funeral home Tues. at 7:30 PM.
