Albert E. Klatt, 81, of Martins Ferry, OH, died Monday, December 30, 2013 at Liza's Place, Wheeling, WV. He was born March 3, 1932 in Martins Ferry a son of the late Chester A. and Waneeda E. (Gray) Klatt. He retired from the Martins Ferry Plant of Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel. Al was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, American Legion Post #38, Ohio River Valley Elks Lodge #231 and a honorary member of Martins Ferry Fire Department Ladder Company all of Martins Ferry. He was also a veteran of the U. S. Navy. Surviving are his wife, Carolyn (Lewis) Klatt, children; David Klatt of San Francisco, CA, Brenda Snyder of Martins Ferry and Brian (Vicki) Klatt of St. Clairsville, OH, grandchildren; Zachary Snyder and Samantha Snyder and Nathan Klatt and Christina Klatt, a great granddaughter, Kylie Klatt and several niece, nephews, and cousins. Friends will be received at the Heslop Funeral Home, 415 Walnut St., Martins Ferry, OH, Friday, 2-4 & 6-8 pm where services will be held Saturday, January 4, 2014 at 11:00am with Rev. David Stammerjohn officiating. Burial follows in Riverview Cemetery, Martins Ferry. Martins Ferry Fire Department will hold services Friday at 7:00 pm in the funeral home. Military honors will be presented Saturday at 10:45 am in the funeral home by the VFW Belmont County Honor Guard.
