Obituary

Alfred McKinney, 79, of Martins Ferry, OH died Friday, Sept. 24, 2010 at East Ohio Regional Hospital Long Term Care. He was born Nov. 25, 1930 in Wheeling, WV a son of the late Charles and Mary (Wagner) McKinney. He retired from Swisher International (formerly Bloch Brothers). Al was a member of the First U. Methodist Church and American Legion Post #38 both of Martins Ferry. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers Paul and Walter McKinney and a sister Dorothy Paith. Surviving are his wife Nancy (Ruthers) McKinney and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Sunday, 4-8 pm and Monday, Sept. 27, 2010 from 11 am until time of services at 1:00 pm at the Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut at Fifth, Martins Ferry, OH with Rev. Van D. Fisher officiating. Burial follows in Olive Branch Cemetery, Harrisville, OH. Military honors will be presented by the Belmont County Council of the V.F.W. at the funeral home prior to services.
