TOGETHER AGAIN Allan E. Marty 96 of Brookside died Tuesday April 3, 2012 at East Ohio Regional Hospital Martins Ferry. He was born January 14, 1916 in Bridgeport, a son of the late Jacob and Emma Pfister Marty. He was the former Owner Operator and Founder of J.E. Marty and Son's Appliance Co. and Bantco Cable Co., a member of 1st United Methodist Church Kirkwood, he was a former past president and member of the Bridgeport School Board, the Belmont County Vocational Board, Former Mayor of Brookside and a Councilman, Bridgeport Blue Lodge #181, Osiris Shrine Temple Wheeling, Jester's Wheeling Court # 13, the only charter member left of the Bridgeport Rotary Club, the Bridgeport Eagles #995, the Lansing Sportsman Club, and a Army Captain in WWII. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his loving wife Helen M. Reynolds Marty, two brothers Jacob Marty Jr., and Albert Marty, a sister Ida M. Hollingsworth. Allan is survived by two sons Allan E. Marty Jr. and his wife Audrey of Pataskala Ohio, and Dr. Charles J. Marty and his wife Kathy of Granville, Ohio, five grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Members of the family will receive friends Friday April 6, 2012 from 2 till 9 pm at Wilson Funeral Home 920 National Road Brookside. And on Saturday at 1st United Methodist Church 300 De Kalb St. Bridgeport from 12 noon till time of service at 2 pm, with Rev. Julainnne Gebbie and Rev. David Demarest officiating, interment in Weeks Cemetery Bridgeport. Bridgeport Masonic Services will be held Friday at 7 pm at the Funeral Home.
