ALMEDA I. HESKETT
Quietly in the early morning of March 25, 2021, Almeda Heskett, 89, of Bethesda, Ohio, passed away. She was born October 7, 1931 in New Athens, Ohio, daughter of the late Pat and Mary (Pastva) Palumbo. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Judy Doty and Shirley Gregg.
She married her husband and best friend, Charles, November 19, 1949, making their home in Bethesda and raising their two children. Charles passed away December 6, 2001. Almeda worked as cook for Belmont Elementary and was a life member of the Bethesda American Legion Ladies' Auxiliary. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother and enjoyed time spent with her family and friends. She was a member of Bethesda United Methodist Church and more recently attended East Richland Friends Church, was devoted to her faith, and enjoyed giving, in many aspects, during her daily journey.
Almeda's memory will be cherished always by those who survive; daughter, Melissa (David) Dougherty of Belmont; son, Charles Heskett, Jr. of St. Clairsville; grandson, Ryan (Jaclyn) Dougherty; great-grandson, Oliver Dougherty; step -great-granddaughters, Maci and Zoey; sisters, Joan Snyder of Bethesda, Patty (Earl) Corder of Belmont; brothers, Norman (Patty) Palumbo and Donald (Glenda) Palumbo all of Florida; many nieces, nephews, and dear friends; and her loving companion, Barkley.
Family and friends are welcome for visitation, Monday, March 29, 2021 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm and Tuesday, March 30, 2021 from 10:00 am until the time of service, beginning at 11:00 am, Patron Funeral Homes & Crematory Kelly Kemp Braido, 322 N. Main Street, Bethesda. Pastor Jerry Wenger will officiate. Interment will follow at Ebenezer Cemetery, Bethesda.
