Alretta Pearl Bennett, 69, of Bridgeport, passed away Sunday, June 28th, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on January 28, 1957, in Martins Ferry, a daughter of the late Elmer and Alice (May) Rouse. She was employed at WVU Continuous Care Center and previously employed for 20 years at Heartland Care Center. Alretta loved spending time with her family, being outdoors, picnics, amusement parks, and overall, just having fun.

She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Ed Bennett Jr.; three children, Jeanette (Michael) Coey, Waylon (Amanda) Bennett, and Crystal (Anthony Rush) Bennett; a sister, Alice (Ira) Davis; two brothers, Donald Rouse, and Edward (Maureen) Rouse; nine grandchildren, Harley, Dale, Anthony, Brandon, Arianna Bennett, Abigail, Ariel, and Avery Bennett-Rush, Wesley Coey; a great granddaughter, Amelia Bennett-Bonnette; and many nieces and nephews.

Alretta was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Jack Rouse; a grandson, Christopher Bennett; and a granddaughter, Tiara Bennett.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are entrusted to Wilson Funeral Home, 920 National Rd., Brookside.
