Alvin W. Knapp, 78, of Martins Ferry, OH died Monday, Dec. 24, 2012 at East Ohio Regional Hospital, Martins Ferry, OH. He was born Sept. 17, 1934 in Wheeling, WV a son of the late Edward and Eleanor L. (Leithe) Knapp. He was retired from the former Wheeling Stamping. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Brookside, OH, and a charter member of the Pride of the Valley Barber Shop Choirs. In additions to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife Charlotte (Feltenberg) Knapp, his second wife Helen (Brost) Knapp, his third wife Mary Ann (Benich) Sadosky Knapp, a step-son Randy Brost, and two brothers; Norman and Arthur Knapp. Surviving are a son Kurt Knapp of Wheeling, WV, two daughters; Vicki (Bruce) Kirchner, and Judy (Bill) Beabout, all of Wheeling, WV, two step-sons; Robert W. (Linda) Sadosky, Jr., and Larry (Mary Beth) Brost, all of Martins Ferry, a step-daughter Cindy Spurlock of TX, 13 grandchildren Lorrie Downs, Steve Kirchner, Nathan Knapp, Teresa Orkoskey, Ian Beabout, Jennifer and Shane Brost, Carrie Bunting, Britlee Brost, Phil, Scott and Brian Sadosky, and Lori Hanna, and ten great grandchildren. Friends will be received Friday 2-4 & 6-8 pm at the Heslop Funeral Home, 415 Walnut St., Martins Ferry, OH where services will be held Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012 at 11:00 am with Pastor Karen Torrez officiating. Burial follows in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, OH. Condolences to the family may be made by signing the guest book at the top of this page.
