Obituary

Andrew J. "Andy" Duska 78 of Mingo Junction died Sunday February 26, 2012 at Charity Hospice in Trinity West Hospital Steubenville. He was born July 29, 1933 in Mingo Junction, a son of the late Andrew P. and Mary A. (Moro) Duska. He was a retired employee of Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel Mingo Plant, a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church Mingo Junction where he sang in the Choir, a life member of the Knight's of Columbus Lodge #4361 Msg. Joseph F. Dooley Council. He was a brick layer by trade for 46 years, an avid gardener; he enjoyed sharing his harvest with everyone in the community. He served many people in many ways with anything they needed help with from plumbing to carpentry. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by an infant son Timothy John Duska. Andy is survived by his loving wife Barbara Jean "Jeanie" (Olexa) Duska, children Andrea Jean "Dusty" Duska of Mingo Junction, Geralyn "Gera" (John) McEwen of Columbus, and Michael A. (Jill) Duska of Mingo Junction, he was Papa to Elizabeth, Jacob, and Andrew Duska, a sister Mary Ann (Bob) Geltz of New Philadelphia, Sister-in-law Ruth Ann Afek of Mingo Junction, and nieces Deborah (Dave) Stocklas and family of Cranberry PA. Leslie (Michael) Vrotney and family of Pittsburgh, Pa. Renee M. Afek of Mingo Junction, Lisa A. (Jim) Garber and family of Cleveland, Ohio, and his adopted family Huu Trong (Thrinh) Do and three children all of Mingo Junction. Friends are invited to a celebration of Andy's life on Tuesday February 28, 2012 from 4-8 pm at the Blaschalk-Wilson Funeral Home 115 Union St. Mingo Junction. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10 am at St. Agnes Catholic Church Mingo Junction with Rev. James M. Dunfee officiating. Wake service will be recited on Tuesday at 7:30 pm at the Funeral Home, entombment in Mt. Calvary Mausoleum Steubenville.
