Obituary

Andrew David Faldowski Sr., 79, passed away on July 23, 2015 at East Ohio Regional Hospital. He was born in Adena, Ohio, on November 19, 1935, the son of the late Frank and Anna Faldowski. He said he was born at home because "It was before they had hospitals". He was a graduate of Dillonvale High School and was a retired coal miner and farmer. Most people knew him as "Andy". Andy had a generous nature, was humorous, was a hard worker and good provider, was an excellent cook and was an excellent gardener (who used his own secret fertilizer). His frequent companion was his black lab Knight and according to Andy "the smartest dog ever". He also loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and fabricating something out of nothing in his garage. Andy served his country as a tank mechanic in the United States Army stationed in Germany. The newspaper once coined him one of the "Fearless Faldowski" brothers on the football field for the Dillonvale Knightriders. He is preceded in death by his brothers, Frank (Nancy) Faldowski, John "Ed" (Evelyn) Faldowski, James (Joan) Faldowski, Bernard (Rosemary) Faldowski and "Ron" (Sharon) Faldowski and his sister Marianne (Julius) Dziewatkowski: his infant son Andrew Faldowski, his granddaughter Jessica Marie Mayle and his grandson James Cameron. Surviving are his daughters Mary K. (Robert Jr) Mayle, Cheryl (Mark) Mayle, Lori (Ray Risdon) Faldowski and Andrea (Aaron) Tom; grandchildren Patrick James (PJ) Loper, Robert (Bo) Mayle, Markie Mayle, Bruce (BJ) Cameron, Samantha Mayle, and Jocelyn Mayle; and his former wife Beverly J. Faldowski. He is greatly loved by his family and friends and will be missed more than we can say. Family and friends will be received at the Wilson's Funeral Home, 154 Second Street, Dillonvale, Ohio on Sunday 4-8 p.m. where services will be held at 10:00am on Monday July 27, 2015 with Msgr. John Kolesar officiating. Interment will follow at the St. Adalbert Cemetery. Military Honors provided by Dillonvale American Legion, McCook Post 529 at the funeral home. Following the interment a dinner will be held for all family and friends at the Mt. Pleasant Fire Hall. Memorial contributions may be made to either: Jessica Mayle Scholarship Fund or FFA of Harrison Central. Offer online condolences at www.wilsonfuneralhomes.com
