Obituary

ANDY KUTCHMYER, 98, of Barton, died Friday, December 12, 2008, at Park Health in St. Clairsville. He was born June 30, 1910 in Barton, the son of the late John and Anna (Vascura) Kutchmyer. Andy was a member of St. Nicholas Orthodox Church in Barton and had retired from Y&O Coal Co. and Rudners Furniture. He was a member of the Colerain VFW and was a veteran of the United States Army during WW II, serving with the Rainbow Divisions 142nd Engineer Combat Battalion. He was also affiliated for years with the United Mine Workers Association baseball teams. In addition to his parents, Andy was preceded in death by his wife Mary (Gerevics) Kutchmyer; a daughter Mary Ann Kutchmyer; four brothers Mike, John and Samuel Kutchmyer and David Vascura; as well as three sisters Olga Antoniazzi, Anna Smith and Catherine Timko. Andy is survived by his son Robert Kutchmyer and his wife Tina of Bridgeport; as well as several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Monday 4-8 pm at Wilson Funeral Home, 920 National Rd., Brookside, where Funeral Services and Panachida Services will be held at 7 pm. The Funeral Divine Liturgy will be held Tuesday at 10 am at St. Nicholas Orthodox Church in Barton with the Very Reverend Father Michael C. Kabel officiating. Interment will follow at St. Nicholas Orthodox Cemetery in Barton. Full military services will be conducted Tuesday morning at the funeral home by the Belmont County Council of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
