Lt. Colonel Anna Margaret (Marge Absalom) McKim, USAF-Retired, of Absalom Dr., Martins Ferry, OH died Saturday, Apr. 17, 2010. She was born at Ferry View, Martins Ferry, a daughter of the late Charles and Elizabeth (Larkin) Absalom. Lt. Col. McKim retired from the U.S. Air Force after 27 years of active duty, which included service in World War II, Korean War, and Vietnam War. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Martins Ferry, Air Force Women Officers Associated, Military Officers Association of America, and Women in Military Service for America. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her three sisters Elizabeth, Catherine, and Lt. Col. Evaline M. Absalom, USAF-Retired, and six brothers Edmund (Ned), Carl T., Harry, Thomas, Walter, and David Absalom. Surviving are four nieces Phyllis Absalom of Los Angeles, CA, Nancy Thomas of Martins Ferry, OH, Donna (James) Vedo of Melbourne Beach, FL, and Bessie (Kenneth) Friesmuth of Rotunda West, FL, three nephews Thomas E. Absalom, Edmund (Nadine) Absalom, and Thomas A. (Gloria) Absalom all of Martins Ferry, and six great nieces and 17 great nephews. Private services were held at the convenience of the family at Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut at Fifth, Martins Ferry, OH with Minister Rod Kasler officiating. Burial followed at Weeks Cemetery, Bridgeport, OH. Condolences to the family may be made by signing the guest book at the top of this page.
