ANNE KATHERINE KOVALSKI, 89, of Rayland, died Friday, May 23, 2008 at East Ohio Regional Hospital, Martins Ferry. She was born January 17, 1919 in Amsterdam, Ohio, the daughter of the late John and Barbara (McLoskey) Skolosh. Anne was a member of St. Adalbert Catholic Church in Dillonvale, where she was active with the Holy Rosary Society and the Catholic Women's Club. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Martin Kovalski; two sons Marty and Richard ""Roni"" Kovalski; two brothers, Steve and John Skolosh; two sisters, Stella Zeakes and Mary Kolesar; a great grandson Martin Supanik and a son in-law Watson ""Bob"" Barsch. Anne is survived by two sons James Kovalski and his wife Sandy of Mt. Pleasant and Mark Kovalski and his wife Kolleen of Mentor, Ohio; three daughters Barbara Barsch, Rita Ridener and her husband Joseph, and Kathy Calhoun, with whom Anne resided, all of Rayland; a sister Margaret Kolesar of Canton, Ohio; two daughters in-law Mary and Colleen Kovalski both of Rayland; 19 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren and her dog Pepper. Visitation will be Monday 2 - 9 pm at Wilson Funeral Home, 154 Second St., Dillonvale, where Vigil services will be held at 7:30 pm. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated Tuesday at 10 am at St. Adalbert Catholic Church in Dillonvale with her nephew, Monsignor John Kolesar, as the celebrant. Interment will follow at Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, Ohio.
