Anton M. "Tony" Godez, 88, of St. Clairsville formerly of Bridgeport, died Wednesday, September 18, 2013 surrounded by his loving family. He was born July 3, 1925 in Bridgeport, a son of the late Anton and Mary (Koss) Godez. He was retired President of General Welding Supply Co. Bridgeport, a veteran of WW II in the US Army. Tony graduated from Bridgeport High School in 1943, and from Case Institute of Technology with a BS in Mechanical Engineering in 1950, a member of Theta Chi Fraternity. He was on the Advisory Board of Belmont County Sanitary Sewer District #1, Past President and Board member of the Bridgeport Public Library, Board of Directors of Bridgeport Savings and Loan, lifetime member of the American Welding Society. He received a 70 year recognition Award from SNPJ, past Welding Instructor for the Plumbers and Pipefitters Union. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his loving wife Helen (Mesojedick) Godez in 2009. Tony is survived by his children Jim (Linda) Godez of Tampa Fl, Susan Godez of Colerain, and Sherrie (Dan) Starowicz of Sarasota Fl, grandchildren Scott (Kate) Starowicz, Mande Starowicz, and Tony Godez, a great granddaughter Skylar Starowicz. Friends will be received at the Wilson Funeral Home 920 National Road Brookside on Friday September 20, 2013 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm, where services will be held on Saturday at 10 am with Rev.
