Obituary

Arthur C. "Artie" Jacobs, 73, of Bridgeport, OH, died Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at Wheeling Hospital, Wheeling, WV. He was born April 16, 1943 in Martins Ferry a son of the late Robert and Ella (Vaness) Jacobs.
Artie worked for Nickles Bakery and retired from Scott Lumber Co. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Freda Jacobs Grimes and a nephew, William Roberts, III.
Surviving are his sister, Dessie Shrieve of Bridgeport, nephews; Bob (Carla) Roberts of St. Clairsville, OH and Mark (Sheryl) Roberts of West Jefferson, OH, niece, Kim (Lou) Nagy of Bridgeport and great nephews; Michael Roberts and Adam (Katie) Roberts.
Private services will be held at Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, OH.
Arrangements by Heslop Funeral Home, 415 Walnut St., Martins Ferry, OH.
