Arthur J. Bruney, Jr., 75, of N. 8th St., Martins Ferry, OH died Mon., Feb. 28, 2005 at East Ohio Regional Hospital, Martins Ferry. He was born Sept. 1, 1929 in Martins Ferry a son of the late Arthur J. and Eula V. (Mozena) Bruney, Sr. He was retired from the Martins Ferry plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel. Art was member of the Martins Ferry Boosters Club and a forty year member of the Martins Ferry Fire Dept. Alert Engine Co. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Sara Margaret (Jewell) Bruney and his step-mother Viola (Greer) Bruney. Surviving are two sons David Bruney and his wife Cheryl and William Bruney and his wife Cindy all of Martins Ferry, a daughter Karla Vinci and her husband Lenny of Martins Ferry, a brother Fred and his wife Louise of Ocean Isle, NC, a sister Judie Simms and her husband Larry of Massillon, OH, nine grandchildren Craig, Mandy, and Amy Bruney, Gina, Natalie, and Karlen Vinci, and Zac, Ashley, and Trevor Bruney. Friends will be received Thurs. 12-3 & 5-9 PM at the Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut at Fifth, Martins Ferry, OH where services will be held Fri., Mar. 4, 2005 at 11:00 AM with Rev. William O. Webster officiating. Burial follows in Riverview Cemetery, Martins Ferry. Martins Ferry Fire Dept. will hold services Thur. at 7:00 PM in the funeral home.
