Arthur L. Carpenter, 74, of Barnesville, Ohio, died Friday, July 3, 2015 at Ohio Valley Medical Center. He was born September 26, 1940 in Bethesda, Ohio, son of the late Clinton L. Carpenter and Ruth J. Lucas Carpenter. He attended Main Street United Methodist Church, was active with the Band Boosters during the late 1980's, and was retired from North American Coal Powhatan #6 where he worked as a dozer operator. Arthur served on the Barnesville Fire Department for 47 years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Carpenter; brothers, Robert and Richard Carpenter and Dale Perkins. Arthur is survived by his son, Allen Carpenter of Newark, Ohio; sister, Wilma (Ralph) Ramsey of Florida; several nieces and nephews; and special nephew Rick and his family Cindy and Christian, with whom he resided. Family and friends are welcome to visit, Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Kelly Kemp Braido Patron Funeral Homes & Crematory, 702 E. Main Street, Barnesville, Ohio, where the service will be conducted, Tuesday 11 a.m. Pastors Rodney West and Ed Emory officiating. Interment will follow at Holly Memorial Gardens, Colerain, Ohio.
