Arthur W. "Bill" Conway, 74, of W. Elm Rd., Radcliff, KY, formerly of Martins Ferry, OH died Fri., Feb. 13, 2004 at Jewish Hospital, Louisville, KY. He was born Jul. 16, 1929 in Wheeling, WV a son of the late John A. and Jessie (Runyan) Conway. Bill retired from the U.S. Army with 25 years of service. He was a member of V.F.W. Post #10281, D.A.V. Chap. #156, and Foresters Lodge #1628 all of Radcliff, American Legion Post #200 of Louisville,KY and the Blinded Veterans. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a granddaughter Brandi Fox and a brother Dale Conway. Surviving are his wife June (Scott) Conway, two sons Arthur (Vanda) Conway of Cross Plains, TN and Sam (Lisa) Conway of Radcliff, four daughters Margaret (Richard) Swank of Moberly, MO, Jessie (James) Peltz of Dillonvale, OH, Rose Terry of Zelienople, PA, and Goldie (Leonard) Fox of Culdesac, ID, a sister June Marie (Gary) Sumper of Moberly, MO, fourteen grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, six step great grandchildren, and seven step great great grandchildren. Friends will be received Tue. 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut at Fifth, Martins Ferry, OH where services will be held Wed., Feb. 18, 2004 at 11:00 AM with Minister Terry Erwin officiating. The Belmont Co. Council of the V.F.W. will hold military services at the funeral home prior to burial in Weeks Cemetery, Bridgeport, OH.
