Arthur L. Eberhart, 79, of Martins Ferry, OH passed away Saturday, Nov. 1, 2008. He was born Jan. 22, 1929 in Martins Ferry a son of the late John C. and Mary (Fingerhut) Eberhart. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Andy Eberhart. After Art left the military he moved to Washington DC to be near his sister's family, where he became very close to his niece and nephew. He lived for years in the Washington DC area where he was a Postmaster of Bladensburg, MD. Art returned to Ohio in 1978 and retired from the Wheeling Post Office. He never missed sending a birthday or Christmas Card. He will be sorely missed. He served honorably in the U.S. Army during World War II, and with the U.S. Air Force in Korea. Art was an active member of American Legion Post #38, and the former VFW Post #3613 and Eagles Aerie #456 all of Martins Ferry. Surviving are his sister Lillian (Chuck) Hinebaugh of Stephens City, VA , a nephew Mark (Laura) Hinebaugh of Granville, OH, and a niece Diana (Chris) Ager of Merrimack, NH.
