ARTHUR W. PORTER, 90, of St. Clairsville; formerly of Bridgeport and Wheeling Island, died Wednesday, October 1, 2008 at Park Health Center in St. Clairsville. He was born November 2, 1917 in Bridgeport, the son of the late William and Caroline (Heusel) Porter. Arthur worked for the United States Postal Service in Columbus and was a veteran of the US Army during WWII. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Helen Porter in 2001; seven brothers Howard, Paul, John, James, Irvin, Charles and William Porter; and five sisters Mary Stolze, Celia Harter, Grace, Evelyn and Ruth Porter. Arthur is survived by a sister Sarah "Betty" Yurkovitch of Port Charlotte, FL as well as several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Monday from 9:30 am until the time of Arthur's funeral services at 11:30 am at Wilson Funeral Home, 920 National Rd., Brookside with Reverend James Hildebrand officiating. Interment will follow at Weeks Cemetery, Bridgeport.
