August Emil "Augie/Gus" Ossana, Jr. 96 of Bridgeport passed away peacefully Monday, October 3, 2022, at Liza's Place, Wheeling, WV. He was born May 5, 1926, the son of the late August, Sr., and Eleanor (Souillard) Ossana.

Augie was retired from Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel Company – Yorkville Plant as a company clerk. He was a graduate of Bridgeport High School class of 1944, a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and a member of the Foresters of America and a veteran of the U.S. Army – WWII. Augie/Gus was an avid runner/walker and participated in the Elby's 1/2 Marathon many years where he placed 1st in his age group.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Freda Visnic.

Surviving are his nephew; Dan (Karen) Visnic of McMurry, PA, and niece; Janice (Jack) Strauss of Fairfax, VA, great-niece; Alina Visnic and her husband Tim Currence.

In keeping with Augie's wishes all services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Liza's Place, 1068 St. Rt. 150, Rayland, OH 43943.
