Barbara Jean
Fulst
Jul 24, 1961 — Oct 2, 2026
Bridgeport
Barbara Jean Fulst, 65, of Bridgeport, Ohio, passed away peacefully October 2, 2026 at Liza’s Place. Born in Martins Ferry, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Harry Dean Carpenter Sr. and Minnie “Patty” Carpenter.
Barb is survived by her husband, Kirk, of 44 years, her cherished daughter, Chantelli (Jeremy Bower) Fulst; sisters, Gladys “Pumpkin” (Mike) Horsky, Cheryl “Cookie” Carpenter; brother, Harry Dean Carpenter Jr.; and many beloved nieces, nephews, great aunts, great uncles, and special friends.
Barb was a 1979 graduate of Buckeye South High School in Tiltonsville, Ohio. She was a woman who had a genuine gift for caring for others. She was always willing to lend a helping hand, offer a listening ear, or simply be there when someone needed her. Her kindness and generosity touched many lives, and she had a remarkable ability to make people feel welcome and loved.
Barb had a passion for making her home beautiful. She loved decorating, especially for Christmas, and had the most exquisite themed trees and collection of Rudolph items. Barb loved shopping and she could rarely resist the thrill of discovering a great deal. But perhaps her greatest talent was making friends. Wherever she went, Barb seemed to leave with a new friend—or come home to tell a story about someone she had met.
She had a special love for children and embraced them with warmth. Over the years, Barb became known affectionately as “Aunt Barb” to her friends’ children - who were not related to her, but who were certainly part of her heart. Being “Aunt Barb” was one of the roles she treasured most.
Barb’s life was defined not only by the people she knew, but by the love she gave so freely to them, especially her daughter and son-in-law. Her kindness, generosity, friendship, and unmistakable personality will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Barb’s life during visitation on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Wilson’s Funeral Home, 920 National Road, Bridgeport, Ohio 43912. A memorial service honoring Barb’s life will begin at 5:30 p.m with Minister Stacey Agnew presiding.
