Barbara Jean (Kucera) Turvey Meadows, 86, formerly of Yorkville, OH and Martins Ferry, OH, died Sunday, September 22, 2019 at Peterson Rehabilitation Hospital, Wheeling, WV.

She was born September 30, 1932 in Bridgeport, OH daughter of the late Bedrick and Dana (Hopkins) Kucera.

Jean retired as the "Cafeteria Lady" and "No Bake" lady from the Martins Ferry City Schools Cafeteria where she was known for her no bake cookies.

She was a member of Tiltonsville U. Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husbands; Elmer W. Turvey, Elmer L. Turvey and Chester Meadows, her son, Alan G. Turvey and her brother, Holly Ray Kucera, and a stepdaughter.

Surviving are her children; Nancy S. Turvey of Martins Ferry and Randy L. Turvey (H.L. Wright) of Powell, OH, a stepson & two stepdaughters, a sister-in-law, a grandson & a grandaughter, and a great grandaughter.

Family and friends will be received at Heslop Funeral Home, 415 Walnut St., Martins Ferry, Wednesday, 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. where services will be held Thursday, September 26, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. William O. Webster and Rev. Charles McGinnis officiating. Burial follows at Riverview Cemetery, Martins Ferry.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Peterson Hospital Recreation Center, 20 Homestead Ave., Wheeling, WV, or Martins Ferry City Schools, 5000 Ayers Limestone Road, Martins Ferry, OH.
