Bernadine B. (Burnip) Goddard, 82, of Martins Ferry, OH, died Wed., July 18, 2007 at Altercare of Bucyrus in Bucyrus, OH. She was born Nov. 23, 1924 in Salineville, OH a daughter of the late Thomas and Annie (Lindner) Burnip. She was retired from the Audio Visual Dept. of the Catholic Diocese of Wheeling. Bernadine was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Martins Ferry and the Linden Twig at East Ohio Regional Hospital where she was a former Red Cross Volunteer. She was also an avid bridge player. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Burton H. Goddard. Surviving are a daughter Pamela (David) Jones of Mansfield, OH, a son Kevin H. (Mary Santiago) Goddard of Falls Church, VA, a brother Wilfred (Marjorie) Burnip of Salineville, a sister Jean Saxton of Rayland, OH, and grandchildren Tyler J. and Makenzie Jones. Friends will be received Sunday 12-2 & 6-8 PM at the Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut at Fifth, Martins Ferry where services will be held Monday, July 23, 2007 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Dr. Bill N. Lawrence officiating. Burial follows in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove,OH. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the First Presbyterian Church.
