Bertha Beranek, 94, of Dillonvale, Ohio, passed Sunday January 21, 2018 at East Ohio Regional Hospital. She was born in Connorville, Ohio on September 25, 1923, a daughter of the late Thomas and Helena Pohancanik Litva. Bertha was a member of the Dillonvale American legion Aux, AARP, St. Adalbert Catholic Church and Czech-Skyline Radio Club. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Joseph F. Beranek, siblings: Marie Mihlbauer, John Litva, Anna Russell, Thomas Litva, Helen Sperringer, Margaret Molnar, Joseph Litva and Agnes Yatsko. Bertha is survived by her children: Joseph (Barbara) Beranek Jr., Carl (Debra) Beranek, Eddy (Robin) Beranek, Jerry (Sherry) Beranek; grandchildren: Melissa (Rickey) Flinn, Jason (Beth) Beranek, Dawn (Richard) Wills, Carl (Sara) Beranek Jr., Eddy (Lana) Beranek Jr., Adam (Heather) Beranek, Andy (Kristin) Beranek, Jerry Beranek Jr., Amy (Ryan) Campbell; and eighteen great-grandchildren. Friends will be received Wednesday January 24, 2018 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home, 154 Second Street, Dillonvale, Ohio, and also on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. with Msgr.
