WHORTON, Bessie, 103, of Blaine, Ohio, passed away Thursday July 8, 2010, at her home. She was born in Shortcreek, W.Va. on February 7, 1907, a daughter of the late Henry Martin and Lula Yater Finsley. She was a homemaker and lived for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved to cook and bake for everyone. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Paul Whorton and daughter, Shirley Brandon. Bessie was one of twelve children and is survived by only one sister, Thelma Dugmore of Bellaire, Ohio; a daughter Pauline (Lloyd) Boston of Blaine; one nephew dear to her heart, Roy (Sally) Patterson of Wheeling, W.Va., five grandchildren: Shirley (Bobby) Anderson of Byesville, Ohio, Cindy (Frank) Gregorcic of Bridgeport, Ohio, Eugene Loughery and wife of Blacklick, Ohio, Lloyd (Rhonda) Boston of St. Clairsville, Ohio and Carissa Boston of the home; six great-grandchildren: Michael, Matthew and Dylan Gregorcic; Kasey and Natalie Boston, and Alexia Loughery; several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Sunday at the Wilson Funeral Home, 920 National Road, Brookside, Ohio, where services will be held Monday, July 12, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. with Reverend James Hoff, officiating.
