BETSY DODD

Betsy Dodd, 80, of Barnesville, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, May 5, 2019.  Daughter of the late Gilbert and Marion Linton Alexander, she was born in Barnesville, Ohio on February 1, 1939.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her husband, Kenneth Dodd in 2005; brothers, Robert, Billy, Arthur, Johnny, Jackie, Buddy, and Terry Alexander; sisters, Emiley Weaver, Cherry Hilerd, and Glory Bilyeu.

Cherishing the memories are those who survive; sons, Kenneth (Kathi) Dodd, William (Tricia) Dodd all of Barnesville, Gilbert (Stephanie Weeks) Dodd of Pleasant City; grandchildren, Joshua (Stephanie) Endsley, Corey (Alisha) Endsley, Morgan, Alexis (Cassel Scott) Dodd, Clark, Logan, and Kennadi Dodd; great-granddaughters, Isla and Lucy Endsley; sister, Kay Dimmerling of Barnesville; sister-in-law, Betty Dodd; numerous nieces and nephews; and lifelong dear friend, Beverly.

Growing up in a large family, she learned empathy, acceptance, and responsibility, which led her to being a loving and dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother, cherishing her family and the memories they made, telling their story. Betsy had worked at Barnesville Hospital in the dietary department.

The family will welcome guests for visitation, Wednesday evening, May 8, 2019 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm, Patron Funeral Homes & Crematory, 702 E. Main Street, Barnesville, where the service for Betsy will be held on Thursday, May 9, 2019 at 11:00 am.  Pastor Ed Eberhart will officiate.  Interment will follow at Crestview Cemetery, Barnesville, Ohio.
