Betty Lee (Gosney) Dittman 89, passed away November 24, 2018 in Eagle ID.
Betty was born on Jan 11, 1929 in Martins Ferry, OH to Robert and Katherine Gosney.
After graduating high school Betty attended a business college to further her education.
Betty was married to Harry Dittman in 1950 at a Lutheran church in Wheeling, WV.
Harry & Betty began their family in Wheeling where their three children Gary, Robert and Kathy were all born. Later, for economic reasons they moved the family to Long Beach, CA where they spent the majority of their life.
Betty worked outside the home off and on thru the years until she retired from the family owned business. They retired near their children in Portland, OR and then later moved to Boise, ID where they spent the last 20 years.
Betty enjoyed painting ceramics, crafts and sewing as hobbies but her main focus was on family and raising her children. Maintaining family relationships with near and far away family members and friends was a focal point in her life. She cherished each and every one she knew.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Katherine (Pauli) Gosney, her sister, Diana Mcglaughlin and brother, Robert Gosney.
She is survived by her husband of 68 years Harry Dittman, her children; Gary Dittman, Robert Dittman & Kathy Thompson, five grandchildren; Tommy, Beth, David, Ryan and Ashley and five great grandchildren; Nolan, Brooks, Beck, Brock and Charlotte.
A visitation for Betty will be held on Friday, November 30, 2018 from 4:00 – 7:00 pm at Bowman Funeral located at 10254 W. Carlton Bay, Garden City, ID. In lieu of flowers please make a donation in Betty's name to www.huntingtonsdiseasefoundation.org. Friends will be received at Heslop Funeral Home, 415 Walnut St., Martins Ferry, OH, Monday, December 3, 2018 from 5 to 8 p.m. Burial will be held at Riverview Cemetery, Martins Ferry.
