Betty Jane Hartline Snider 97, of Martins Ferry, passed away Tuesday June 27, 2023, at the home of her daughter surrounded by her loving family. She was born June 15, 1926, in Shadyside, a daughter of the late Dorsey Hiram and Naomi Hess (Goodwin) Hartline.
Betty retired from Holly Memorial Gardens in 1991 as secretary and bookkeeper, she was a member of Colerain Presbyterian Church Colerain. Betty was a graduate of Shadyside High School in 1944, Secretary of the Senior Citizens and past president, a member of the Martins Ferry Historical Society, the Shadyside Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star #581, the Friendly Circle Class, Oglebay Institute, the AARP, the Cumberland Trail Genealogy Society, and the Magnolia Twig of East Ohio Regional Hospital.
In addition to her parents Betty was preceded in death by her loving husband Charles "Chuck" W. Snider, siblings Dora Goodwin Gentile, Jack D. Hartline, and Dwane "Mike" Hartline.
Betty is survived by her children Louis (Tammie) Snider of Erwin, TN, Leslie (Bill) Withers of Columbus, and Lynne (Ray) Swicegood of Galloway, a sister Dolly Simon of Sewickley, PA, seven grandchildren Bill (Sarah) Withers, Justin (Samantha) Withers, Kara (Greg) Truck, Jessica "Sweetie" (Jake) Swicegood, Jack (Alex) Swicegood, Nolan (Nicole) Snider, and Cali (Jay) Warren, 14 greatgrandchildren, also several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Wilson Funeral Home Heslop Chapel 415 Walnut St. Martins Ferry, Ohio on Friday July 7, 2023, from 2-4 and 6-8 pm with Eastern Star Services to he held Friday at 7 pm at the Funeral Home. And then on Saturday from 10 till time of service at 11:30 am at the Colerain Presbyterian Church 71750 Colerain Street, Colerain, with Rev. Joe Ellis officiating. Interment in Holly Memorial Gardens Pleasant Grove. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Colerain Presbyterian Church 71750 Colerain Street Bridgeport, Ohio 43912
