Obituary

Betty L. (Jarrett) Hartenstein, 94, of Martins Ferry, OH died Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at her residence. She was born February 8, 1923 at Warwood, WV a daughter of the late Newell K. and Dorothy (Lash) Jarrett.
She retired from Nickles Bakery Thrift Shop and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church both of Martins Ferry.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, William V. Hartenstein, Sr., a son, William V. Hartenstein, Jr. and her brother, Bill Jarrett.
Surviving are her children; Patricia A. Hartenstein of Martins Ferry, Susan (Corky) Gehrig of Shadyside, OH, Dorothy (Richard) Corvi of Lawton, OK and Neil T. (Linda) Hartenstein of Phoenixville, PA, grandchildren; Betsy, Cody and Mickayla Corvi, sisters-in-law, Jacky Henry and Ruth Hodgkiss, several nieces and nephews and her dogs, Fritz and Ivy.
Friends will be received Monday 2-4 p.m. & 6-8 p.m. at Heslop Funeral Home, 415 Walnut St., Martins Ferry, OH where services will be held Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. David Stammerjohn officiating. Burial follows in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, OH.
Deacons services will be held Monday at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to: First Presbyterian Church, 400 Walnut St., Martins Ferry, OH or Valley Hospice, 10686 Ste. Rte. 150, Rayland, OH 43943.
