Betty Joan Lucas, 83, of Barnesville, Ohio, died Saturday, June 18, 2016 at Emerald Pointe Nursing and Rehab. Born July 17, 1932 in Barnesville, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Roy L. House and Ida B. Long House. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles Cain; second husband, Samuel Lucas; sons, Leslie and Marty Cain; great-grandson, Matthew Luyster; and sisters, Katherine Asher and Ruth Ann Warrick. She is survived by her daughters, Vicki Hoop of Freeport, Ohio, Charla Cain of Barnesville, Ohio, Marcy Welsh of Caldwell, Ohio; ten grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; sister, Pat Schradel of Barnesville, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews. Joan, as she was known to everyone, was a kind and loving person. She was a very people oriented person who loved helping others and shared this gift, by being a care giver and working at Barnesville Hospital for 22 years.
