Maurer, Betty L. (Byrd), 89 of St. Clairsville formerly of Bridgeport went to be with the Lord on Friday August 9, 2013 at Cumberland Pointe Rehabilitation Center St. Clairsville surrounded by her loving family. She was born January 27, 1924 in Bridgeport, a daughter of the late Bertie E. and Alice (Sullivan) Byrd. She was a retired supervisor for C&P Telephone Co. a member of the First United Methodist Church Bridgeport, also a member of the DAV Ladies Aux. Post #117 Bellaire. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband Edgar L. Maurer in 2010, brothers Bert Byrd Sr. and Robert Byrd, a sister Helen Milhorn. Betty is survived by her daughters Marsha Lynn (David) Rinkes of St. Clairsville, and Lisa Gay (Kevin) Smith of Nashville TN., three grandchildren Michelle (Scott) Cucarese, Doug Rinkes, and Hillary Smith, and a great grandson Devin Cucarese. Friends are invited to a celebration of Betty's life on Monday August 12, 2013 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Wilson Funeral Home 920 National Road Brookside, where services will be held on Tuesday at 11 am with Rev.
