Betty (Ewing) McClay, 78, of Washington Blvd., Martins Ferry, OH died Monday, Aug. 18, 2008 at Kindred Hospital-Pittsburgh, Oakdale, PA. She was born Feb. 10, 1930 in Maynard, OH a daughter of the late Virgil T. Ewing and Angela M. (Spendal) Ewing Bandi. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and Mackey Community Center both of Martins Ferry. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother Melvin "Bud" Ewing and two sisters Mable E. Ewing and Carol J. Bandi. Surviving are her husband Patrick F. McClay, two sons Mike McClay of Martins Ferry and Ron (Elaine) McClay of Streetsboro, OH, two daughters Cherie Frazier of Martins Ferry, and Nancy (Mike) Dvorcek of Jacksonville, FL, a brother Kenneth (Judy) Bandi of Upland Height, OH, two sisters Velma Applegarth of Martins Ferry and Mary "Idie" (Arthur) Arnold of Bellaire, OH, and six grandchildren. Graveside services will be held Thursday, Aug. 21, 2008 at St. Mary's Cemetery, Martins Ferry, OH. Arrangement by Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut at Fifth, Martins Ferry, OH.
