Betty A. (Stevenson) Jones, 85, of Martins Ferry, OH died Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2008 in Wheeling Hospital, Wheeling, WV. She was born Dec. 26, 1922 in Wheeling a daughter of the late Alexander and Frieda (Sommers) Stevenson. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Martins Ferry. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a grandson Douglas Jon Wilson and two brothers Clarence and Alexander Stevenson. Surviving are her husband of 67 years William E. Jones, three daughters Sandra (Robert) Mills of West Lafayette, OH, Betty (Richard) Wilson of Martins Ferry, and Carol (James) Hartman of St. Clairsville, OH, a son Jeff (Sandy) Jones of Salem, NH, a brother Donald (Trudy) Stevenson of Aberdeen,MD, a sister Evelyn Rynkievich of Wheeling, eleven grandchildren Michael (Lisa) Mills, Richard (Melissa) Mills, Richard Craig (Nancy) Wilson, Jenifer Lynn (William) Nolan, Dwayne (Brandi) Wilson, Tammy Sue (Johnny) Collins, Thomas W. (Michelle) Niven, Jr., Jason (Ashleigh) Jones, and Jeremy, Amanda, and Joshua Jones, 14 great grandchildren Michael, Ashley, Alicia, & Joey Mills, Zachary, Laiken, & Lyndsey Mills, Ashley & Aaron Wilson, Kiersten Nolan, Megan & Lance Collins, and T.J & Kaylee Niven, three great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Thursday 2-4 & 6-8 pm at the Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut at Fifth, Martins Ferry, OH where services will be held Friday, Sept. 19, 2008 at 11:00 am with Revs. Dr. Bill N. Lawrence and John F. Helgeson officiating. Burial follows in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, OH. Deacons of the church will hold services Thursday at 7:00 pm in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Martins Ferry, American Cancer Society, or American Diabetic Assoc.
