Betty L. (Worley) Spurlin, 77 of Middletown, OH passed away Monday, Sept. 9, 2013 at The Woodlands of Middletown. She was born July 6, 1936 in Martins Ferry, OH, a daughter of the late Charles and Virginia (Christman) Worley. She was the secretary for the First Presbyterian Church from 1979 to 2002. Betty's life revolved around her family. She was preceded in death by husband Frederick S. Spurlin in 1976, a sister Jenny Duncan and a great grandson Pierce Samuel McKenzie. Betty is survived by her daughter, Darcy K. Spurlin of Middletown; two sons, Frederick S. (wife Debbie) Spurlin of Hebron, KY and Timothy L. (wife Amy) Spurlin of The Woodlands, TX; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren; a brother Harry "Buck" Worley of Gahanna, OH, a sister Charlene Regis of Martins Ferry and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be at the Breitenbach-McCoy-Leffler Funeral Home, Middletown, OH on Thursday, Sept. 12, 2013 from 5 to 7 pm with services at 7:00 pm, Reverend David Jackson officiating. Visitation will be at the Heslop Funeral Home, 415 Walnut St., Martins Ferry Friday, Sept. 13, 2013 from 11 to 2 pm. Committal service and burial will be at Riverview Cemetery, Martins Ferry at 2:00 pm on Friday with Minister Rod Kasler officiating.
