BEVERLEY JANE WHARTON

Beverley Jane Wharton, much loved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away at the age of 84 on Wednesday, April 1, 2020, at her home surrounded by loved ones. Beverley was born in Lisbon, Ohio on September 11, 1935 to the late George and Mabel (Armstrong) Stuckey.

In addition to her parents, Beverley was preceded in death by her first husband, Gene Howell; brother, Bobby Stuckey; and sisters, Shirley Sanders and Becky Stuckey.

Beverley is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, John Wharton; sons, Timothy (Mindy) Howell of Bethesda, Jody (Dee Dee) Howell, and Rhett Wharton all of Barnesville; sister, Georgia Crowl of Lisbon; grandchildren, Sayrde (Callan) Meikle of Colorado, Ashley (Lance) Hannahs of Barnesville, Sam Howell and Dustin Howell both of Barnesville, Chloe Howell of Bethesda; great-grandchildren, Ayden and Christien Hannahs, Averick Meikle; several nieces; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

Beverley was retired from Barnesville Hospital after dedicating 25 years of her life as an LPN, but never retiring from being a caregiver to anyone in need and she was instrumental in starting the Meals on Wheels Program through Barnesville Hospital.  She enjoyed traveling and taking her boat out on Seneca Lake.  Beverley (fondly known as Bevee to her grandchildren) loved spending time with her family and friends.  She had a special place in her heart for her friend, Zelma Mayberry and Darla, the daughter she never had, and her faithful companion, Parker.  As a member of the United Methodist Church in Bethesda, Beverley was a devout Christian and loved her Lord and Savior above all.  She was passionate about donating to worthy causes.

Private visitation, for immediate family only, will be held on Saturday, April 4. 2020, Patron Funeral Homes & Crematory Kelly Kemp Braido, 322 N. Main Street, Bethesda.  Anyone wishing to pay their last respects to Beverley can join her family in the funeral procession, stating at 12:30 p.m. (Saturday, April 4th) from Patron Funeral Home to Ebenezer Cemetery, where a Graveside Service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. by Pastor Tom Detling.

The family would like to extend special gratitude to Kim Krone, Lexi Crum, and Hospice of Guernsey, for the care given to Beverley before her passing.  Memorial Contributions may be made in Beverley's memory to: Barnesville Hospital, 639 W.
