Blanche E.(Schrickel) O'Connell, 93, of Rayland, Ohio, died Tuesday January 19, 2016 at Arbor at Woodsfield, Nursing Home. She was born September 2, 1922 in Rayland, a daughter of the late Charles and Rosie (Burkhead) Schrickel. She was a retired head cook for Buckeye Local School System, a member of Rayland United Methodist Church, the UMC Women, and the American Legion Aux, Dillonvale. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Myron O'Connell in 2011, three sisters Katherine Coleman, Caroline Traversari, and Dorothie Senek. Blanche is survived by her two daughters Dorothy (Vince) Olenick of Dillonvale, OH, Patricia (Mike) McConn of Clarington, OH, a brother Carl Schrickel of Kent, OH, four grandchildren Tricia, Michelle, Raeanne, and Heidi, five great grandchildren Ayden, Harmanee, Christian, Lyla and Zachary. Friends will be received at the Wilson Funeral Home, 154 Second Street, Dillonvale on Monday January 25, 2016 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm, where services will be held on Tuesday at 11 am with Rev. Thomas N. Thomas officiating. Interment will follow at Holly Memorial Gardens Pleasant Grove. Memorial contributions may be made to Rayland United Methodist Church.
