Bonnie Jo Oliver, 77, formerly resident of Martins Ferry, OH and Cedarville, OH, went home to the Lord, Monday, June 13, 2016, surrounded by her family. She was born July 22, 1938, in Morgantown, WV, the daughter of the late Ernest and Martha Elizabeth (Tuel) White. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald E. Oliver and her sister, Betty Jean Bertschinger. She was a graduate of Cedarville University, a retired elementary school teacher, and a published author. Mrs. Oliver is survived by her children: Michael (Patty) Oliver, Etters, PA; Heidi (Daniel) Schmidt, Martins Ferry, Kimberly (Jon) Sullivan, Xenia, OH, Brad (Angie) Oliver, Muncie, IN, Barbara (Bryon) Edwards, Clayton, OH, Ronda (Otis) Anglin, Kirkersville, OH, her sisters, Joy (James) Wilson, Colonial Heights, VA and Amy (John) Jacob, Winchester, VA, fifteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by her former fourth grade students of Xenia Nazarene Christian School. A Gathering of Friends will be held from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Thursday, June 16, 2016 at the First Church of Christ, 441 Ledbetter Rd. Xenia, Ohio 45385. Family and friends will then be received at Heslop Funeral Home, 415 Walnut St., Martins Ferry, OH, Saturday, June 18, 2016 from 10 a.m. until time of the Funeral Service at 12:00 p.m. Burial follows at Greenwood Cemetery, Wheeling, WV.
