Brenda A. (Groves) Paulus, 53, of Howard St., Bridgeport, OH died Wed., Feb. 28, 2007 at home. She was born Jul. 20, 1953 in Martins Ferry, OH a daughter of the late Nelson H. and Margaret R. (Phillips) Groves. Brenda was a retired nurses aide for the Belmont Manor Nursing Home of St. Clairsville, OH. She was a Catholic and a member of Eagles Aerie #456 Ladies Auxiliary and P.N.A. Lodge #2220 both of Martins Ferry. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Lawrence A. Paulus, Sr. Surviving are her son Lawrence A. Paulus, Jr. of Bridgeport, three daughters Kay (D.J.) Beiswenger of Elm Grove, WV, Paula M. (Craig) Clevenger of Dillonvale, and Annette S. (Mark) Montgomery of Ashtabula, OH, her mother-in-law Venita Paulus, three sisters Lynn M. Groves of Bridgeport, Margie Powell and fiancee Jim Hoge of Martins Ferry, and Sherri (Greg Godnar) Groves of W. Yellowstone, MT, two brothers-in-law Alan (Karen) Paulus of Moundsville and Richard (Pauline) Paulus of Tenn., a sister-in-law Lois Jean Long of Wheeling, WV, five grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, a special niece Ellie (Sean) Bevan of Bridgeport, two great nephews Todd and Michael Bevan, and a special feline Thomasina Paulus. Friends will be received Friday 6-8 PM at the Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut at Fifth, Martins Ferry, OH where services will be held Saturday, Mar. 3, 2007 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Maggie Sebastian officiating. Martins Ferry Eagles Ladies Auxiliary will hold services Friday at 7:00 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 3612 Maple Ave., Zanesville, OH 43702.
