Brenda J. (Harris) Stewart, 55, of Martins Ferry, OH, died Thursday, March 28, 2013 at East Ohio Regional Hospital, Martins Ferry. She was born June 4, 1957 in Wheeling, WV a daughter of the late Robert W. "Bob" and Vera F. (Jones) Harris. Brenda was a former employee and member of the Martins Ferry Elks. She attended St. Mary Catholic Church of Martins Ferry. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister, Shelia Marie Harris. Surviving are her daughter, Amanda Jo (B.J.) Thomas of Martins Ferry, her fiancé, John J. Davis of Martins Ferry and two granddaughters, which were the love of her life, Emily Marie and Ellie Jo Thomas. Friends will be received at the Heslop Funeral Home, 415 Walnut St., Martins Ferry, OH, Monday 6-8 pm and Tues, April 2, 2013, noon until time of services at 1:00 pm with Rev. Tom Marut officiating. Martins Ferry Elks will hold services Monday at 7:00 pm in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Belmont County Animal Rescue Shelter, 45244 National Rd.
